We resolved to come back again to Bali. The diving location in the north of the island at Pemuteran and Menjangan is really amazing.
Therefore we booked accordingly. As Stopover we selected again Singapore. After our last visit in 2009 there are many changes and news to see. We
wanted to see the Marina Bay with the Marina Bay Sands Hotel and their Shopping Mall downstairs and the new Gardens by the Bay.
We started with direct flight from Frankfurt to our first
location by using the new A380 from Singapore Airlines. The flight on its own was a first highlight, most comfortable and with excellent service on board leaving nothing to be desired.
Overall we stayed in Singapore for 4 days, again in the 4* Swisshotel Merchant Court direct located at the Clarke Quay. In Singapore it is very easy
and cheap to use the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) metro to go to different stations. Such we have visited Chinatown
and Little India and saw some places of interest as for example the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and
the Sri Mariamman Temple. And of course, the Marina Bay area could not be missed. Only the view to the impressive building of the Marina
Bay Sand Hotel with his 3 big elements and the observation deck on top is worth to visit and the splendid view to the skyline of Singapore from the 62.floor is unique and must be
seen, especially after nightfall. In the Marina park itself there is located the Merlion as well, the town's landmark.
But our visit in the Gardens by the Bay has almost everything topped. The entrance was free. Only the
access to both conservatory, the "Flower Dome" and the "Cloud Forest", must be paid. The biodiversity in this spacious area is beyond words. This must be seen once live.
The dinner with our colleagues from the company branch in a seafood restaurant at Dempsey Hill with culinary delights like Chili Crab, Pepper Crab,
Baby Squids and others is still to be mentioned. Finally we visited the Lau Pa Sat Festival Market, a Food Center direct located in the Finance
District, to eat the best satay sticks of Singapore, so it is said in any case. Unbelievable to imagine that a complete road will be closed in the evening at 7:00 pm and within 5 minutes plastic
chairs and tables are build up.
With Singapore Airlines we even further went to Bali, where we stayed for another 10 days again in a beautiful beachfront bungalow of the Adi Assri Cottages and Resort and enjoyed the amazing underwater world with our dives accompanied by Abdul from Sea Rovers dive center.
Beside the photos of this journey you will find some new beautiful underwater pictures of our dives on Bali under the rubric HOBBIES.
